Position Summary


The Associate Director of Marketing is responsible for helping lead School-wide marketing and branding indicatives for the School, in concert with the Director of Marketing and Vice President of Marketing and Communications. This position works collaboratively with all areas of the School to support integrated communications and enhance awareness and reach of the SAIC brand. This position serves as marketing strategist and project manager, working closely with Admissions and Advancement departments on recruiting and fundraising efforts.

  • In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, develops and implement comprehensive, integrated marketing and advertising plans for public programs and events, recruitment, fundraising, and brand initiatives.
  • Helps guide brand identity, content, and creative design across a variety of platforms, including, print, digital, social media, and video content, ensuring a consistent and compelling institutional identity.
  • Serves as a key liaison for the Office of Marketing and Communications with internal partners across the School, including Admissions and Advancement departments, driving recruitment and fundraising communications.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize the content strategy for SAIC’s social media channels.
  • Establishes timelines and project schedules, negotiating any changes in scope, managing client expectations, and working within determined budgets to deliver projects on time.
  • Maintains a portfolio of web projects relating to institutional advancement, serving as relationship manager and project owner for various pages on SAIC.edu, and ensuring brand, tone, editorial guidelines are met.
  • Oversees SAIC’s online merchandise store, managing day-to-day customer service, inventory coordination with distribution warehouse, invoicing, and working with department on promotions and new product development.
  • Hires and manages student staff and freelancers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline. Five to seven years of experience is preferred. Experience in higher education, museum, or art-related environment is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience working with creative teams preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships with a diverse institutional environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms, CMS, user experience, and responsive design
