The Assistant Director supports and leads aspects of the Institutional Research team and is responsible for managing complex data and analytical projects in order to support university compliance, accreditation and inform strategic decision making. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Serves as a member of the Institutional Research leadership team. Leads data extraction, compilation, coding and analysis in order to make recommendations and/or present data to University leadership. Reviews and validates critical data and information for submission to the State and the Federal government, the Clemson Board of Trustees, SACSCOC and other agencies such as the US News and World Report. Creates data visualizations for presentation to campus constituents.
20% - Essential - Responsible for critical data, data processes in relevant information systems, and addressing data governance issues that arise. Serves as the IR subject matter expert for new system integration, process automation, and meta-data management, integration and processes.
20% - Essential - Leads external benchmarking surveys and data exchanges. Manages, reviews and validates data submissions. Develops analytic products to summarize findings and communicates insights to inform University strategic planning and operations.
15% - Essential - Facilitates continuous improvement processes to enhance IR services. Manages the IR website and coordinates information updates. Assists with the redesign and development of applications and ensures high quality of user experiences.
5% - Essential - Consults with internal and external constituencies and fulfills their information needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 5 years of relevant experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology or a related field
Experience - 2 or more years of experience in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in information systems management, data warehousing/querying, data analytics/visualization and/or research design is preferred.
