The administrative Assistant l position is in our downtown Chicago office located at 160 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL. This position serves under the direction of the Public Service Administrator and is responsible for all support and administrative duties in the Nursing Agency Licensing Act section and is required to assist the manager in the operation of the NALA section. Job Responsibilities

  • Performs all support and administrative duties in the Nursing Agency Licensing Act section required to assist the manager in the operation of the NALA

  • Creates and maintains and electronic and legacy filing system for NALA.
  • Using highly technical knowledge of the NALA acts, reviews all electronic mail, US Postal and courier mail, to determine jurisdiction under the ACT, responds to or distributes mail to appropriate staff

  • Controls and maintains NALA Special Accounts Fund. Inputs checks received because of licensing fees for the yearly payment of checks

  • Reviews and designs new forms for use by NALA program

  • Answers NALA section's telephones answering complex technical questions concerning NALA

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration
  • Requires two years of professional experience in a public or private organization

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

  • 1 year of utilizing Microsoft Office suite, mainframe, and personal computer operations
  • 1 year of experience writing concise and complex documents
  • 1 year of experience in customer service or one-year in a support role
