Lead Student Recruiter
Your Mission
You are energized by sharing the Compass Rose mission with families. You are the boots on the ground who engages with the community and builds connections with our communities so others see Compass Rose as a quality school choice for children. You play a key part in ensuring campuses are100% enrolled. You do this by utilizing data to design student recruitment strategies, foster local interest, nurture families to submit applications, host network-wide student recruitment events, and city-wide events.
You work alongside the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment to hire teams of part-time student recruiters who are the recruiting force for Compass Rose.
You play a role in the onboarding, coaching, training, and development of the student recruiters.
Your Responsibilities
New Student Recruitment and Applicant Engagement
- Execute in-person home visits, block walking, host tables outside stores, and make cold phone calls to families
- Confidently speak about the Compass Rose Public Schools program model and attend in-classroom observations to effectively speak to families on our program
- Nurture a positive working relationship with local community partners to sustain and expand upon new student recruitment partnerships
- Plan and participate in school-led events to generate applications
- Execute student recruitment strategies specifically targeting Kinder students within a 5-mile radius of the campus since that cohort is new every year
- Execute student recruitment strategies established by the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment that target families with school-aged children within a predetermined radius of the campus
- Participate in off-site presentations to daycares, housing authorities, community centers, and other community organizations within a 5-mile radius of the campus
- Attend community events and informational fairs in partnership with the network student recruitment team to inform families and promote brand awareness of Compass Rose Public schools.
- Work in partnership with the school to plan and coordinate campus tours
- Track applications, communication to applicants, and conversions to enrollment
- Monitor quality and completion of applications submitted and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with other campus staff on recruitment and engagement events to greet and nurture relationships with new families.
- Cultivate and engage a solid waitlist after the lottery by providing communication and sustained recruitment efforts
Registration, Enrollment, and Family Onboarding
- Become an expert in our application and registration platform
- Assist parents in completing a paper or online application
- Partner with the Director of Operations and campus Registrar to ensure 100% Enrollment on the First Day of School (FDOS)
- Support school events for enrollment and registration with the Director of Operations
- 100% of enrollment events completed on time: re-registration, lottery, registration, etc.
- Post-lottery follow-up with selected families to offer their spot and secure their acceptance until achieving 100% acceptance
- Support beginning of year orientation planning which includes logistics, production, content coordination, and attendance management to achieve 90% attendance
- Support the registration process by distributing communications, following up with families, and supporting the collection and input of registration documents until 100% registration is complete.
- Ensure all new families are effectively on-boarded from the time they apply with ongoing communications and invitations to tours and/or open houses.
- Coordinate Info Sessions and Open Houses to onboard new families.
- 90% New Family Persistence
Team Onboarding, Coaching, and Development
- You are out in the field 95% of the time as the exemplar model and coach for student recruitment
- Engage in the hiring of student recruiters
- Work with the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment to create an onboarding and training schedule for new team members
- Maintain high expectations for yourself and student recruiters to establish and hit daily, weekly, monthly, and annual student recruitment goals
- Provide on-the-spot feedback and coaching on student recruitment and family engagement
- Provide student recruitment performance feedback to the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment

You
- have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- preferable experience in any of the following areas: marketing, customer service, sales, or education
- have strong written and verbal communication skills
- are willing to work a flexible schedule such as late hours, weekends, hours over typical school calendar breaks for events, etc
- are able to work outdoors for extended periods of time
- are able to work in an environment where you travel throughout a neighborhood, park, large area event, etc
- Internal applicants: You must have met 90% of the enrollment goal for 2022-2023 (or any year prior)
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation starts at $50,000 and varies based on experience
