Title: Youth Director

Position Type: Part-Time | 10-15 Hours a Week

Rate: $15-$20 an Hour Based on Experience

Schedule:

Required Hours – Sunday Morning & Thursday Evening

Remaining Hours – Flexible but will include occasional evenings & Saturdays. Attendance at Monday morning staff meetings preferred if candidate is available.

POSITION SUMMARY

Trinity United Methodist Church seeks a Youth Director who is an enthusiastic and relational leader with a passion for connecting youth with God and each other.

Working with our youth and their families, the Director will encourage them to grow in faith, love, and service in the Spirit of Jesus Christ, celebrate diversity, and affirm the sacred worth of each person as a recipient of God's love and grace.

This will be accomplished by:

• Leading youth programming for 6th to 12th grade students; focusing on creating opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and mission.
• Co-leading confirmation classes in collaboration with Pastor and Director of Discipleship.
• Advocating for integration of youth into all aspects of the life of the church.
• Assisting with volunteer recruitment and ensuring youth volunteers are Safe Sanctuary compliant.
• Maintaining communication with youth parents/guardians.
• Facilitating a Youth Council that assists with long-term planning.
• Spearhead fundraising efforts for youth events.
• Posting youth content at least twice a week on church social media pages.
• Attending weekly staff meetings (flexible for right candidate).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Minimum – High School Graduate

Preferred – College Degree

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to Connect with New People
• Able to Work Independently
• Positive Team Player
• Strategic Thinker & Planner
• Familiarity with Tech & Media (Outlook, Google Apps, Zoom, Meta Suite, etc.)

Other:

Must be Over 18 Years of Age

Ability to Complete/Pass a Criminal Background Check
