We are looking for a skilled weekend cook to prepare delicious meals according to menu for our 74 residents An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering 2 well-prepared meals per day for all staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Love our Residents by feeding them well. (and make enough so staff can eat too. :)

Skills

• Proven experience as head or lead cook
• Ability to serve large groups ( up to 100)
• Enjoys a fast paced environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Adaptable-Flexible-Kind-Helpful-Patient
• Experience in using kitchen related equipment
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures and pass Serve Safe Certification and keep department compliant with State Regulations
• Ability to work in a team or alone and report to Head and Assistant Cook.
• Very good communication skills- ability to communicate with internal and external customers and peers in and outside of the kitchen
• Excellent physical condition and stamina. Heavy lifting required
• Ability to use a PC and perform online duties to order required foods and supplies needed to run this department as instructed by Head Cook.
• Fill in for assistant cook(s) when needed for PTO
• Rotational weekends required
• Coordinate outside groups for Holiday parties for residents
• Some Holidays required (rotation)
• High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage but not required
• Ability and Desire to work in a Faith Based workplace, that openly loves the Lord Jesus.
