ABOUT THE ROLE
BrewDog USA commissioned our brewery in Columbus, Ohio in 2017 with the view to bring the people of the US the freshest beer we could. We’ve always had an amazing following from our American fans and we wanted to give them what they deserved and we wanted to bring more people into the craft beer revolution.
Since that day, our pursuit, our ambition and our growth have been relentless. We never let our standards drop. We pride ourselves on growing partnerships with our accounts by serving them with professionalism, quality & efficiency. We’re now looking for a Vice President of US Sales to maintain these levels and advance them! The Vice President of US Sales (Sales VP) is accountable for meeting sales goals set by the management team and managing marketing and sales budgets. The Sales VP is expected to know, understand, and exemplify the highest levels of hospitality, ethics, and resourcefulness in all things representing the company.
Since we first brewed beer at our brewery in Columbus, Ohio, we’ve been utterly relentless in our pursuit of getting the freshest beer into the hands of the people across the US of A. That’s where you, the new Sales VP comes in. We want you to spearhead the growth our beer, brand & relationships in this wonderful part of the world.
You’ll be responsible for working with our distributors to get our beer to the people. It’s really that simple. You will make BrewDog become a force in beer loving hot spots all over the country.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface, manage, and work with Distributors to maximize their effort, build Distributor awareness, and create Market awareness
- Travel to, and meet with, distributors on a regular basis, as required, to discuss planning and promotional activity
- Develop and implement pricing with our distribution partners
- Develop and maintain all aspects of managing representatives and Sales staff including: Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and manage representatives, and teams of representatives, operating both locally and remotely deployed
- Develop and execute an on-boarding program including training materials
- Develop, train, and implement a continuing education program for staff, with a specific focus on making staff as efficient as possible
- Lead and manage all Sales team members and establish strategic plans for each individual that measure progress against very specific and measurable objectives
- Establish tactical plans for individuals that include specific activity metrics
- Lead by hands-on example and be able to do and teach the job of every Sales team member as well as planning and execution of events, promotions, and store tastings
- Design, develop, and manage staff incentive plans
- Clearly communicate and work with the management team to improve the company metrics
- Understand accounting principles required to manage a fast-growing company
- Participate in annual budgeting
- Clearly communicate management directives and establish a clear atmosphere of teamwork and comradery both between Sales members, and between the Sales team and other divisions
- Develop and manage Sales budgets
- Identify key performance indicators, both leading and lagging
- Develop efficient methods for extracting, presenting, and analyzing KPIs; Teach team members the value of the KPIs, and report KPIs directly to the management team
ABOUT YOU
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to manage and lead a large team, including specific examples of coaching/teaching
- Analytical skills and proficiency with analytical tools
- Ability to communicate with individuals, small groups, and large groups using tools and materials appropriate to each
- Organizational and time management skills, along with the demonstrated ability to teach those skills to others
- Ability to extract, format, analyze data from multiple sources (for example VIP, IRI, and distributor reports) and set action plan to a variety of audiences
- Ability to create and deliver Sales and Sales-related Marketing plans to be executed in the field
- Understanding of effective distributor management to meet consumer actions and ability to create executable business plans; Ability to elicit distributor support where needed
- Minimum 10 years of consumable products experience
- At least 7 years of wine/spirits supplier experience; 5+ years of any alcoholic beverage sales experience (manufacturer, wholesaler, or distributor) desired
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently as a self-starter, as well as part of a diverse team
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (or equivalent)
- Ability to organize your own work, work systematically, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, management team and ownership, the general public, and representatives of public organizations
- Attention to detail and ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Ability and willingness to travel nationwide in excess of 25 percent of the time
- Strong leadership skills
