Who You Are:

The Vice President of Real Estate at Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) will be responsible for leading real estate management efforts across multiple restaurant projects as well as ground-up new construction projects. This position will take care of the implementation and execution of the real estate strategy, strategic initiatives, and process. You will work alongside USHG’s senior leadership team to leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making, build and create new processes, create efficiencies, and build out the real estate function.

The role interacts daily with team members regarding lease administration, construction, financial analysis, and company procedures. The ability to leverage one’s knowledge of the hospitality and restaurant industry conditions to negotiate the best possible terms on a portfolio basis is a critical measurement of success.

The Vice President of Real Estate will ensure that the overall real estate strategies are consistent with USHG’s brand/concept vision and business plan. You will serve as the primary liaison between the internal team and overall operations, construction, and other teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, establish and maintain real estate strategy across the entire USHG portfolio
• Analyze real estate proposals related to new openings, relocations, expansions, closures, and renewals
• Work independently but function in a team-oriented environment with partners from a variety of functional areas such as Legal, Finance, People, and Operations
• Identify and focus on critical real estate management issues related to project feasibility including associated costs and logistical issues
• Lead and direct real estate project presentations to senior leaders driving the decision-making process
• Ensure that jobs are completed according to the schedule
• Negotiate basic lease terms
• Develop, nurture, and maintain the USHG brand as well as develop industry relationships
• Work collaboratively with outside parties to accomplish project goals

What we need from you:

• At least 10 years of relevant advanced hospitality/restaurant real estate experience
• Experience working for major restaurants/hotels, landlords, or both a plus
• Experience managing multiple real estate projects simultaneously across a brand and quality spectrum
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills internally as well as with external constituents
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and results-driven who leads by example
• Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and extract the highest potential from supporting personnel and outside vendors and consultants
• Working knowledge of real estate finance and accounting
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and execute all types of development-related contracts
