The successful candidate will join the Strategy and Business Development (S&BD) team in the Undersea Warfare (USW) Market Segment in C6ISR line of business in Rotary and Missions Systems (RMS) business area. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, shaping and leading various captures and building relationships with customers. The candidate will work primarily with the Acoustic and Combat System sub-market program director and sub-market business development professionals to manage and grow the business.

The successfully candidate will be a key member of the USW Business Development team, located in Manassas, Virginia, responsible for the market analysis and early opportunity identification across the business development portfolio. The candidate will plan and execute new business and program growth activities including opportunity assessment, capture management, competitive assessment and positioning, teaming/subcontracting strategy, and customer relationship development. Coordinates with other internal functional departments that are identifying/implementing business development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying resource requirements, capture strategies and marketing plans for new international growth pursuits. Communicates plans with senior management and represents LM in key customer, subcontractor and teaming meetings.
The candidate should be familiar with sonar systems (surface and/or submarines), submarine weapons (torpedoes, missiles) and weapon systems, submarine combat subsystems (Imaging, Navigation, Radar, ESM, etc.) and combat system integration. The candidate will be responsible to expand and extend USW products in both domestic and international markets, develop and execute call plans and work very closely with the USW Program Office and technical teams to execute the strategy. Position reports to the Director, USW Business Development, and has responsibility for business development and program growth initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, preferably engineering or technical degree, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience
• Recent, relevant experience in Undersea Warfare, to include operational deployment is highly desired
• Operational Considered an emerging authority

Desired Skills:

• Master’s degree is desired but not required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with USN USW programs
• USN acquisition and/or PPBE experience
• OPNAV Staff / Pentagon experience also highly desired
