Position Title: Training Assistant
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM
Location: Elmont, NY

Position Summary: Reporting to the Training Department Coordinator, the training Assistant will perform administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the department and assisting with the facilitation of driver training and safety initiatives.
Essential Accountabilities:
  • Network Administrator of the Learning Management System (LMS), duties include, facilitate password resets, data entry, and general administrative functions.
  • Handle correspondence as needed, including writing memos, e-mails, letters, answering phones. Provide administrative support including making copies, ordering supplies, sending cross-departmental reminders, and submitting maintenance and IT ticket requests.
  • Assist with preparing training documentation such as manuals, handouts, and other support materials.
  • Manage scheduling for training sessions, including but not limited to notification distribution to participants, scheduling training rooms, coordinating and preparation of training sessions, securing all necessary equipment and supplies, and preparing all training materials for dissemination.
  • Assist with informing participants or employees about training demands and other important aspects
  • Maintain necessary record keeping for training courses and participants, inclusive of registering staff for trainings, grading quizzes, and updating and maintaining tracing documents.
  • Preparing and distributing training certificates to participants.
  • Assist with creating or maintaining spreadsheets, charts, reports, and other items as needed.
  • Maintain an on-going training list of completed in-service by all employees monthly. Provide quarterly reports to supervisor of training information presented.
  • Communicate information with management of all programs, verbally, and in writing for the purpose of identifying and / or technical assistance that may be needed in addition to those regularly schedule.
  • Assist department in the research, development of curricula, and provision of trainings.
  • Required to participate and attend meetings / trainings at various sites.
  • Attend trainings as assigned by supervisor, in and outside of the agency.
  • Assist with execution of Driver Related trainings, Driver safety tips, and provide information to management to continue to address trends.
  • Experience with driving a larger size vehicle (13-15 passenger vans or larger).
  • Willingness to coach new drivers during road evaluations.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related fields preferred; Excellent platform, standup and communication skills; NYS SCIP Instructorship and American Red Cross/American Heart Association CPR, First Aid Instructorship preferred. Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to move and distribute packages and boxes of supplies. Maintains confidentiality at all times and remain flexible, as work schedules and locations are subject to change. Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.
