Join our welder team! We're currently seeking a TIG welder to play a critical role in the fabrication of aluminum dewars, carefully aligning and skillfully joining aluminum components and accessories. This TIG welder job requires a degree in welding or 1+ years of welding experience.

Location: New Prague, MN

Pay: $20 - 28/hr.

Hours:

• 1st shift: 5:45 am - 2:15 pm, Monday - Thursday
• 2nd shift: 3 pm - 1 am, Monday - Thursday
• Weekend shift: 2:30 pm - 12:30 am, Friday and 12:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday

Primary responsibilities of the TIG welder:

• Control and operate automatic GTAW equipment enabling the precision fabrication of aluminum vessels
• Perform manual GTAW operations to carefully install thin-gauge aluminum accessories
• Observe the type and gauge of aluminum to be welded and make appropriate parameter adjustments
• Apply fixtures, as directed, to ensure appropriate workpiece positioning
• Perform a visual inspection of welds, ensuring vacuum integrity of weld seam
• Perform related assembly duties, including the installation of non-welded accessories and the cleaning of welded components
• Identify components as prescribed by the engineering Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Read and interpret welding symbols and weld procedure specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings depicting proper component placement
• Observe and promote housekeeping best practices by maintaining orderly storage locations for accessory components
• Record and maintain electronic records using a handheld scanner
• Identify and report non-conforming products to the supervisor and Quality Control personnel
• Quarantine observed non-conforming products and advise on necessary repair measures
• Collaborate with fellow production workers to ensure timely delivery of the completed products
• Operate various moving equipment such as forklifts, cranes, specialized chains and slings
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies

Qualifications and education requirements of the TIG welder:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Degree in Welding Technology (from an AWS Accredited Test Facility), OR 1+ year(s) of aluminum TIG welding experience
• Comprehend engineered drawings
• Interpret weld symbols and weld procedure specifications
