OVERVIEW:

United Electronic Industries Services (UEIS) is a small but quickly growing electronics manufacturing and assembly company with a bright future located in St. Thomas! The Test Technician 3 – SMT Inspector is responsible for the Final Inspection of surface mount technologies and through hole assemblies. Will work closely with the Sr. Test Technician to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of printed circuit board assemblies for our customers in the automotive, aerospace, petroleum, simulation, power generation, and other industrial sector industries. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team of approximately fifteen other production employees. Shift hours are 7a.m. – 4p.m., Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate various diagnostic equipment to include but not limited to Ball Grid Array (BGA) and X-ray machines.
• Inspect printed circuit boards assemblies as point of final inspection.
• Test/troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies to component level.
• Operate BGA rework and X-ray stations, training employees in their use.
• Ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Primary point of contact for process anomalies.
• Administer preventive action procedures, as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
• General knowledge of analog and digital circuitry required.
• Familiarity and/or certification with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 preferred.
• Working knowledge of electro-static discharge (ESD) procedures.
• Prior work experience in an ISO 9001 environment preferred.

Actual starting rate will be commensurate with experience.
