Job Summary


The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Part Time Program Coordinator in Graduate Admissions. This position will be responsible for coordinating admissions functions for graduate programs on all campuses and online for a comprehensive university. This position is responsible for systems management for Graduate Admissions and supervising staff and colleagues responsible for administrative functions for the department, requiring a high level of attention to detail and complete understanding of various admissions processes, policies and technology. This person maintains effective working relationships with a variety of individuals at different levels within the institution to foster the successful promotion of graduate programs. The Coordinator assists with meeting the graduate student enrollment goals set forth by the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and establishes admissions application procedures and conducts holistic review of applications. Supervise data processors. Evaluate and make decisions on eligibility for admission based on established academic criteria per program including GPA, test scores and other stated requirements; initiates correspondence and maintains communications with applicant via email throughout the entire enrollment lifecycle. Enforce admissions, UNG and USG policies and regulations as they pertain to graduate program admission. Renders decisions for applicants and audits committee-awarded decisions to maintain compliance with stated approved admissions standards. Requires written documentation for exceptions.
  • Sole administrator for online graduate admission application system (Slate) including initial program set up and modifications, design elements, deadline and access management throughout the year. Lead administrator for Educational Testing Services and Graduate Management Admissions Test; expert on graduate report analysis and modifications through Banner INB, Banner web and Slate; systems lead, responsible for collaborating with UNG Information Technology, Axiom, Banner and Slate liaisons for efficient management of systems and technology for Office of Graduate Admissions.
  • Works with Director of Graduate Admissions and graduate programs in designing program information and promotional materials. Serves as back up in Director's absence responsible for presenting in leadership meetings, making decisions and cross-department collaboration for approximately two months annually as a result of recruitment-related travel.
  • Manages the daily operations of the Graduate Admissions office to ensure excellent customer service is delivered by supporting staff including phone calls, in person meetings and email communications. Counsels prospective students.
  • Web editor for Graduate Admissions, responsible for updating admissions and recruiting information on the Graduate Admissions website; collaborates with Program Coordinators and Department Heads on departmental sites to ensure accuracy and consistency. Serves as lead for Board of Regents Georgia OnMyLine website updates.
  • Trains graduate program staff and academic department leadership in BDMS usage and secures initial setup requirements with UNG Information Technology. Train, develop and supervise student assistants in daily functions of the Graduate Admissions' office.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills, customer service oriented, and strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office products; such as, Word and Excel, and proficient user of Banner, BDMS, and web content management.
  • Requires a general working knowledge of the department's functional area.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, gather and process information, work with little supervision, and maintain confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of admissions or enrollment management experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
