The Department of Extended Learning Opportunities is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for a Competency Based Education teaching position at Marshall High School. This position is in an MPS school that will follow the Early Start school calendar for the 2022-23 school year.

The Competency Based Education instructor supports At Risk youth, who meet program criteria, by ensuring that the school's program implementation, as outlined by Wisconsin DPI and Milwaukee Public Schools, is executed with fidelity.

Salary range starts at $46,144 and increases based on education and licensed teaching experience.

Interview panels may request candidates to submit additional items including, but not limited to, letters of recommendation, sample lesson plans, referrence lists, and/or writing samples.

At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and a copy of official transcripts verifying his/her conferred undergraduate and graduate degree, if applicable.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be currently licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in Alternative Education (1952).

• Assists students with completion of program requirements – comprehensive project portfolio and community service (tracking student progress toward completion).
• Reviews student transcripts and provides an outline of what is required for the student to complete the program.
• Works with other school staff to complete registration paperwork and ensure students receive specific subject area support when needed.
• Uses resources provided by Extended Learning Opportunities (including attendance at monthly instructor meetings) to ensure fidelity of program implementation.

• Attends monthly instructor meetings provided by Extended Learning Opportunities.
• Coordinates with school counselor(s) to ensure students are properly scheduled/flagged in Infinite Campus.
