Teacher Assistants will work under the guidance of general teachers to support educational programming. They will work to enrich each student’s experience in class and help effectively teach age-appropriate curriculum. Teacher Assistants will work under the guidance of general teachers to support educational programming. They will work to enrich each student’s experience in class and help effectively teach age-appropriate curriculum. Their role is to collaborate with Teachers and oversee students so that they get more hands-on attention and personalized help with assignments
- Aide's are responsible for assisting in the implementation of daily program activities.
- Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students.
- Assist students who need additional help learning a specific concept to close academic achievement gaps caused by COVID-19.
- Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to meet the academic needs of all students.
- Assist in data collection to monitor student progress towards grade level standards.
- Place an instructional emphasis on phonics and reading comprehension skills to support struggling readers at all levels.
- Additionally, focus on fact fluency to build foundational math skills necessary for higher-concept application.
- Provide support to students to further understanding of concepts being covered by the classroom teacher in alignment with school curriculum. Additional supplemental resources selected by the Learn It teacher may be used as needed to ensure differentiation.
- High school diploma or a general educational development certificate.
- A minimum of an 8th grade education and 2 years of experience with children.

Meticulous organization skills and eye for detail required.

Familiarity with various educational technology platforms preferred.

Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Work location is in a school building where employees will need to be able to go up and down stairs when holding in-person sessions.

Frequent standing and ability to raise arms above the head when holding in-person sessions.
- Must have reliable transportation.

Must have reliable internet and a working personal computer with updated software and web-camera.

Must have hand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer, as well as experience using Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Zoom/Meets, and other Ed Tech platforms.

Strong organizational skills and flexibility are preferred.

Must be a self-starter and complete basic tasks with minimal supervision.
