Job Description
Project Work

• Nimble move etc.
• Client to Linux migration (hardware and OS)
• Oracle licensing discontinue
• Data Protector upgrade
• OpenView upgrade

OS

• Monitor log files for errors, kernel monitoring and tuning, os patching, package upgrades, setup and capacity planning. Installation and system movement. Monitor and maintain Oracle/VM virtual environment. Monitor and maintain Client-UX/VM virtual environment. Manage cron entries for all systems Linux and Client-UX.

SAN

• Allocate and maintain space for all systems, databases, os, and monitor and maintain the space allocations, increase where needed and move. Setup SAN network for communications, also monitor and maintain the hardware for the SAN environments i.e. patching, capacity planning. SAN switch configuration and maintenance, capacity planning. Clone SAN for EBS using snapshots and unexport and export to target systems.

Hardware

• Utilize hardware logs to help with possible issues with possible failure. Review firmware logs for possible failures. Install new hardware, maintain hardware with possible upgrades for CPU and memory and firmware. Monitor all hardware firmware logs and alert when possible failures may occur or when they occur

OTHER

• Install and maintain all APEX environments i.e. upgrades patches and log monitoring and trimming. Oracle/VM and Client-UX VM applications for virtual systems. All SOA weblogic and application servers. OIC client installs and maintenance.

BACKUPS

• Data Protector all backups for every Linux/Client-UX Systems listed below. Database Online backups. All daily and weekly backups have to be checked to make sure they were successful. Snapshot backups for Databases, Linux/Client-UX infrastructure. These are critical and must be checked.

OpenView

• System management and monitoring for production Client-UX, Windows, and Linux systems. Maintain the database for openview (oracle) and maintain the policies and events for all monitored systems, integration with Jira/Opsgenie.
