Job Description:

As the Senior Specialist, System Administrator you will be responsible for providing overall production management support for HPUX, Unix and Linux infrastructure within the IT Shared Services Linux organization throughout L3Harris locations. Primary support of SAP and Oracle database teams. Daily activities will include shell scripting, updates and patching of the operating system, integration of SAN storage systems, backup and recovery, including creation of HPUX ignite images, performance monitoring, tuning and problem resolution.

Essential Functions:

• Provisioning, Deployment and Patching of Unix/Linux
• HPUX virtualization on the C7000 series environment and configuring HPUX to Fibre Channel (FC) switching and storage
• Daily monitoring of systems and environments and creating configuring and expanding HPUX LVM
• Project identification, prioritization, tracking
• Responsible for build, support, manage, patch, break/fix, root cause analysis in HPUX environment
• Standard maintenance of HPUX machines running on integrity blades including OS patching, hardware monitoring and maintenance.
• Provide mentorship and training to other Unix and Linux administrators
• VxVM disk management including resizing filesystems, adding LUNs from fibre channel storage arrays and creation of standard file systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience or Masters Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of prior experience supporting HPUX

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) system administration
• Experience in standard Unix/Linux/HPUX shell scripting (sh, ksh, csh or bash)
• Ability to create HPUX Ignite images
• Experience supporting Serviceguard clustering solutions on HPUX

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $75,500 - $140,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
