Surveyor provides surveying services to company supervisors and craft to ensure construction work complies with all appropriate standards.
Has demonstrated proficiency in:
Building Tools and Technology: Identifies and uses the correct technology, equipment, and tools necessary to complete the job. Familiar with the use of robotic total stations, GPS, and machine control preferred.
Has a basic understanding of:
Building and Construction Knowledge - Planning: Applies building and construction knowledge, utilizing experience and current developments in the industry to prepare detailed construction sequence plans including all necessary material, equipment, and labor.- Plans and Specifications: Reads and interprets construction plans and the technical specifications to aid in constructability review. Ensures submittals are approved prior to proceeding with work.
- Safety: Ensures the safe execution of all work activities and ensures adherence to our safety regulations to protect all individuals. Verifies and coordinates work activities to comply with Skanska EHS program and corrects unsafe activities, actions and conditions.
- Quality Management: Establishes processes to meet quality standards. Monitors work practices to identify concerns or issues that do not meet these quality standards. Follows contract provisions for necessary corrective action.

- Works to deliver day-to-day objectives with significant impact on achievement of results for the job area.
- Work consists of tasks that are typically not routine.
- Works independently under limited supervision.
- May be required to apply discretion within broad operational boundaries and procedures.
Innovation and Complexity:
- Responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area.
- Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for manager review.
- Problems and issues faced are general and may require some analysis to understand and resolve.
Communication and Influence:
- Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on by obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the job area.
- Explains practices, procedures, and policies in order to reach agreement.
Leadership and Talent Management:
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
Education and Experience
Typically requires minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying preferred.
- Requires broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.
- May require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience.

Search Firm and Employment Agency Disclaimer Skanska USA Human Resources (“Skanska HR”) provides HR services to the Skanska business units within the U.S.A. including Skanska USA Civil Inc., Skanska USA Building Inc., Skanska USA Commercial Development Inc. and Skanska Infrastructure Development Inc.
