Bridges BTC, Inc. an East Florida non-profit, serving the disability community for more than 60 years, is seeking a personable, resourceful companion (Community Support Specialist- CSS) to support a veteran living in Tahlequah, OK.
The ideal candidate would possess excellent verbal skills and patience. You will be mainly in the veteran's home and the community. The veteran is very independent but would benefit from assistance around the home, navigating the VA system, socialization and leisure activities.
Other requirements include detailed written documentation of activities, monthly submission of detailed reports and an ability to work in a remote environment, home office set up, independently.
Experience with Military and/or Law Enforcement is strongly recommended as well as a sensitivity to the needs of the veteran. Ideal candidate must be knowledgeable with veterans' affairs. Dependability and consistency with scheduling is a must.
Approximately 8 - 10 hours per week with early afternoon availability (12PM - 4PM) on flexible days.
