POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for daily direction and supervision of the Power Systems service department and Service Technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee the daily operations of the generator and marine service business, including emergency service, preventative maintenance and repair
• Direct work assignments, manage work loads and daily activities of department technicians.
• May determine scope of work / job requirements and create estimate for service/repairs needed
• Ensure the appropriate manpower, parts and supplies are available to complete work assignments.
• Review in-progress and completed jobs to manage costs and achieve margin objectives..
• Assist Service Coordinator in responding to, and handling customer inquiries and scheduling
• Open repair orders / manage customer accounts.
• Handle customer requests for warranty service, ensure manufacturer warranty claims are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Create final invoice with explanation of charges for work performed and review with customer
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and/or three to seven years related experience

• Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others.
• Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
• Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
• Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Other Requirements: Prior experience in a shop and/or field service environment required. Ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools required. Prior supervisory experience required.
