PeaceHealth is seeking a Supervisor Centralized Scheduling for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable, Remote position.
This position will be performed fully remote. If telecommuting, PeaceHealth will provide the caregiver with necessary computer equipment. It is the responsibility of the caregiver to provide Internet access.
Must reside in Washington, Oregon, Texas or Alaska.
Responsible for monitoring the overall services, developing quality and performance indicators, gathering data for analysis as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services, and stewardship of resources within established budget. Responsible for the selection, training, performance, and schedules of assigned Caregivers. Responsible for the scheduling services the department provides to multiple hospital and outpatient departments, modalities and facilities. Scheduling areas of responsibility include (not limited to) Surgery, Imaging, CVC, CBC, Endoscopy, Respiratory Therapy, Chart Building, Pre-Admission Screening.
Details of the position:
- Links mission into day-to-day work, focuses on meeting organization/departmental targets, monitors budget variances and recommends or develops plans for improvement, ensures regulatory compliance.
- Recommends selection of staff. Monitors and evaluates performance and accountability of staff. Evaluates competence and initiates performance improvement plans to develop staff. Provides meaningful and constructive feedback.
- Works with leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the department.
- Creates efficient algorithms, guidelines and processes that are sensitive to provider needs while also anticipating the needs of all units that rely on the information collected for scheduling and coordinating procedures.
- Educates community physicians in the scheduling processes, protocols, and policies for patient safety and efficiency.
- Markets hospital services to providers and provider offices in the local and surrounding communities.
- Identifies stakeholders, troubleshoots proposed changes in practice, and utilizes exceptional communication skills to create and assess continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
- Creates and maintains daily schedule by arranging cases to ensure maximum effectiveness of physicians and assistants by completing edits in a timely manner. Identifies potential resource conflicts and works with leadership to resolve.
What you bring:
- Associates degree in a related field required or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years scheduling and health records experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
- Previous leadership training and experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and encourage staff.
- Proactive, takes initiative.
- Knowledgeable of creating algorithms or guidelines for coordinating surgeries, procedures and exams performed in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- This Position may require travel between Networks (Oregon and Washington)
- Work may require rotating shifts and hours per day.
