POSITION TITLE: Supervisor - Central Distribution

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises within a self-directed team environment, under the coaching of the Director of Supply Chain, ensuring fulfillment of supply needs to using department site as required for patient care and administrative operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supervises daily operations of the Distribution and Receiving Sections of the Supply Chain Department, paying close to census changes, and adjusting staffing as necessary via ERO or MRO.
• Coordinates the Departmental Training of new department Employee’s.
• Participate in staff evaluations for Distribution and Receiving associates in a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing required for daily operations of the Distribution and Receiving Sections of the Supply Chain Department.
• Performs monthly audits of usage and par level locations and general store items. Proactively manages changes indicated with user department representatives; performs cycle counts and refills warehouse shelves as assigned.
• Responsible of fiscal year physical inventory functions as directed by the Director of Supply Chain.
• Labels supplies appropriately.
• Assists Director with conducting customer service surveys. Assists with data gathering and analysis.
• Shall staff accordingly based on fluctuation in patient census

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Scan and services supply area’s located in care areas.
• Willing to cross-train in other areas of Supply Chain.
• Notifies Purchasing Office of noted supply shortages and determined “dead stock.”
• Performs other duties as assigned and/or determined necessary.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

Possession of valid Oregon driver’s license; excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital’s auto insurance policy; Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose appropriate course of action; Ability to prioritize workload and effectively manage time; Maintain a clean, neat and appropriate appearance for public contact; Ability to interact and collaborate with nursing and other providers in proving assistance in determining supply needs; Avoids unnecessary absence and tardiness; Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to meet desired outcomes in the provision of services; Exhibit a commitment to excellence in the provision of supplies and services to customers; and Excellent analytical skills.

PREFERRED:

Previous knowledge of medical supplies and warehousing operations

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

.Medium to heavy physical demands. Lifting 5 to 50 pounds from floor to waist height frequently. Lifting 5 to 50 pounds from floor to head height occasionally. Pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds frequently. Must be able to reach frequently in range from floor to 72”. Must have the ability to mathematically determine inventory needs. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Must be able to prioritize workload and effectively handle stressful situations. Must be able to stay focused on repetitive tasks. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Must be able to demonstrate caring, courtesy and competence to all by his/her attitude and behavior. Must be able to assertively establish and meet performance goals.

PAY RATE: $25.56 - $37.45 This is an exempt position; pay is based on experience.
