Supervisor Job at BHI Energy
Description: Responsible for the safe execution of the assigned maintenance work by supervising and directing the activities of a maintenance team in accordance with applicable Duke related technical procedures and guidelines. Accountable for maximizing the productivity, quality of the team and resources under his/her control. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships in all areas and levels.
Education and Training Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years' work experience in maintenance
- Minimum three (3) years Fossil experience in maintenance and/or previous outage experience at Duke Energy facility
- One (1) year experience as a lead person or supervisor
- May be required to pass a Duke Energy approved or accepted proficiency diagnostic test applicable to the area of supervision.
Minimum Skills Requirements And Accountabilities
- Completion of time reporting
- Reviewing schedules, workforce availability and prioritization of work
- Review work order package for completeness and accuracy
- Assignment of work based on employee qualifications
- Conduct safety and risk assessment
- Communicate with employees and support groups
- Employee observations and Verifications of safe work conditions
- Component verification
- Waste/environmental controls
- General housekeeping (ongoing)
- Procedure Adherence
- Company/Section Goals (i.e. safety, rework, productivity, job quality, budget concerns)
- Human Error Reduction
Administrative:
- Conflict Management
- Feedback and Coaching
- Performance Management
- Recognize and manage aberrant behavior
