Job Summary:

The Superintendent oversees the field operations of large-scale commercial construction projects. Ensures that all work, whether self-performed or subcontracted trade, complies with contract documents and the specified project schedule. Must be able to find solutions to both routine and complex construction problems and continue to push the project forward. We are looking for a Superintendent located in American Samoa or willing to relocate.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Coordinates and schedules the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via project foreperson to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate.

· Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.

· Collaborates with architect, engineer, attorney, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.

· Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.

· Obtains required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.

· Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.

· Maintains records related to costs and inventory.

· Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.

· Collaborates with union representatives to answer questions and clarify procedures.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• At least 5 years of experience working at the superintendent level on large-scale commercial construction projects

· Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.

• Demonstrate base-building experience
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
• Effective communication skills, including presentation and people skills.

· Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with substantial projects for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
• Willingness to travel
• OSHA 30 certification

Education and Experience:

· Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field Preferred.

· 4+ years of experience in a similar or related role.
