WestCare is looking for substance abuse counselors for our Dual Diagnosis program within Logan Correctional Center.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is required.
• Must have CADC (or LPC or LSW) OR obtain within two years of hire
• Knowledge of offender populations, criminal subcultures, cultural differences, substance abuse assessment tools, therapeutic community concepts
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and IDOC background check
• Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct
• Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served

Responsibilities:

Person in this position will be responsible for providing a variety of programs in relation to substance abuse for clients participating in the program.

• Complete assessment of each client
• Initiate and sustain each individual’s motivation to participate in treatment
• Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups
