Summary

The Street Outreach worker is responsible for the outreach services in the RHYME/Safe Place programs. This position provides information and referrals, outreach and direct services to youth and families referred to the Children's Cabinet. This is full-time position and is accountable to the RHYME/Safe Place Coordinator


Duties

Conducts outreach in specified sites to identify youth and families in need of services and as it relates to the implementation of the RHYME/Safe Place program.

Provides information and referrals for individuals referred to the program by staff from Juvenile Services, school district or community-based organizations as well as "walk-in" or self-referrals.

Profiles and screens needs of youth and families with regard to status offenses and school/Cabinet/community resources.

Conducts follow-up activities with youth, parents, schools, and/or community/Cabinet resources.

Enters, updates, and monitors information in street outreach databases

Achieve an understanding of agency mission, strategic focus areas and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas.

Knowledge of social media

Available to work weekends

Conducts presentation on program services

Conducts follow-up activities with youth clients.

Conducts client intakes for FYI Department programs.

Conducts outreach services with Street Outreach Youth Workers, FYI interns, and volunteers

Enter, update, and monitor information in computerized client database(s) for the Street Outreach Program

Responsible for establishing eligibility for youth participating in youth programs

May be required to transport families and/or youth

Disseminate information regarding Street Outreach, Internet Safety, and the Safe Place Program, including community presentations and program materials, and perform other outreach functions as needed.

Identify outreach locations and schedule daily outreach sessions

Submit monthly reports regarding program activities to the RHYME Coordinator, Program Director and funding sources as needed.

Set annual goals and objectives related to specific job function

Perform related duties as assigned.

Attend weekly meetings with RHYME Coordinator to discuss Street Outreach progress and activities

Requirements

Special Requirements
Must possess reliable transportation to conduct street outreach activities.
Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's license and proof of insurance.
License or Certificate
Able to pass complete background check.
