Role Overview
The Dispensary Manager will be responsible for attracting, hiring, managing, supporting, and retaining a team of retail associates / “budtenders”. The Dispensary Manager will oversee the daily operation of the dispensary including (but not limited to) scheduling shifts, patient paperwork, cash handling, inventory management, opening and closing the dispensary, daily goal setting with staff, overseeing the cleanliness of the dispensary, and consulting with customers and patients. The Dispensary Manager is also responsible for training the retail associates, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing Assistant Dispensary Managers. The Dispensary Manager will be responsible for delivering an exceptional experience to customers and patients who visit the dispensary. The ideal candidate will grow with the company and eventually help to manage multiple dispensaries across Massachusetts and help develop Assistant Dispensary Managers to help with the day to day operations of each dispensary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver an exceptional experience to customers and patients
- Recruit, hire, train, manage retail associates/”budtenders”
- Become an expert in cannabis regulations and help to execute and enforce compliance
- Develop a training program for retail associates/”budtenders” and ensure staff is knowledgeable about our products and can help guide customers and patients
- Ensure technology and security are functioning properly and best practices are being followed
- Responsible for updating the menu in the dispensary as inventory changes
- Responsible for fostering a positive attitude among staff and help to develop positive relationship with customers
- Adhere to company standards including maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism
- All other job duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Cannabis experience is required
- 5+ Years of retail or hospitality management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of or eagerness to learn state-specific cannabis laws and regulations
- Flexible schedule
- Self-management and supervisory management
- Analytical skills, adaptability, problem solving and versatility
- Must be able to take initiative, make decisions and be proactive
- Desired work ethic includes being detail oriented, highly organized, positive, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and a good communicator
