Staff Demand Planner Job at Itron
The Global Demand Planner will facilitate Itron's product demand planning and supply chain processes in alignment with company objectives. Reviews, recommends, or makes changes to global demand/supply forecasts comprised from inputs including business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, statistical run rates, and replenishment stocking plans. Monitors and analyzes overall demand trends identifying and acting on conflicts in partner supply chains. Works to resolve, and ensure adherence to, process integrity. Works with business partners to understand specific business objectives, and to incorporate this knowledge into demand management.
- Provides a support role in promoting planning concepts, management and alignment throughout multiple sites, organizations, and businesses.
- Drive S&EO and S&OP process for her/his corresponding product lines coordinating with Sales, Business Unit, Operations.
- Develop validated demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, assist in developing and maintaining statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results applying error analysis techniques to continuously improve forecasting.
- Review sales plans, finance budget updates or latest estimates and demand drivers: - Solicit, and assess feedback on the various forecasts from sales, and Business Units - Recommend adjustments for operational forecasts
- Interact with sales and business units to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Use forecast results to provide input into planning responsive strategies across the complete supply chain, including inventory optimization and life cycle management strategies to effectively manage inventory positioning.
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with factory operations.
- Optimize service standards, shipping costs, and inventory costs through innovative processes and management practices.
- Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
Experience: This position requires a minimum of 8+ years of Supply Chain, Operations and Sales and Operations process
Education: Bachelor's degree required
