Sr. HR Generalist Job at Good Chemistry
Good Chemistry proudly grows, breeds and sells premium, small-batch cannabis. Salary: $ 75,000 - $90,000 annually commensurate with education and experience
Job Summary: The Senior HR Generalist will provide HR support to Good Chemistry employees, with a primary focus on Massachusetts, in a variety of functions, including onboarding and offboarding, payroll processing, HRIS administration, culture development and employee relations. The Senior HR Generalist will act as a liaison between the HR departments in Massachusetts and Colorado and therefore must exhibit exceptional communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
Respond to employee requests and inquiries, including assisting with interpretation of company policies and procedures.
Conduct onboarding with new hires through HRIS, communicate company policies and benefits, verify I9's and collect all necessary documents.
Perform HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
Navigate complex and sensitive personnel issues and consult HR Director to assist managers with and make recommendations for disciplinary action.
Implement training programs for Good Chemistry employees across all departments, with a focus on leadership development
Offboard employees, process terminations and communicate with appropriate departments to terminate access.
Process Verifications of Employment as needed.
Respond to and process Unemployment Claims.
HR investigations and reporting.
Investigate Workers Comp claims and communicate with insurance providers.
OSHA record keeping and filing.
Administer FMLA and PFML requests and track employee leaves of absence.
Provide a weekly report of HR activity to the HR Director.
Other duties and projects as assigned by management, both in MA & CO.
Job Requirements (Education and Experience):
Must be able to pass CORI background check
College degree required, preferably in Human Resources or related field.
SHRM or PHR Certificate is preferred not required.
Minimum 8 years experience in Human Resources.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Must be able to regularly commute to multiple worksite locations including Lynn, Bellingham, Holliston and Worcester. Worcester will be the primary work location.
Must have in-depth knowledge of Massachusetts employment laws; cannabis regulatory experience is a plus.
Must pass a background check in order to obtain an RMD Agent card through Cannabis Control Commission.
Proficient in HRIS systems; experience with Paychex is a plus.
Proficient in G Suite and Apple OS.
Ability to work effectively across departments.
Enthusiasm for the cannabis industry.
Passionate about HR.
Excellent oral and written communication, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
Experience in building new teams and proliferating company culture.
Proven attention to detail and organization skills.
