Portfolio Services
The Portfolio Services department provides Schroders global client base a range of portfolio services from post deal execution through to client reporting and performance measurement. Services are provided directly to the clients and to the Investment and Distribution divisions within the firm. The operating hubs of the firm are in London, New York and Singapore providing 24/5 coverage of financial markets and Schroders regional offices.
Trade Operations Overview
Schroders Trade Operations is responsible for the confirmation, instruction and settlement of derivative, mutual fund, equity, fixed income and foreign exchange trades, instruction of cash payments/receipts, trade advice rendition.
Job Summary
As a Trade Operations Specialist you will be joining our US Transaction Operations team who is responsible for ensuring that our equity, fixed income and repo trades are managed end to end from confirmation through to settlement. The team is also responsible for ensuring that any issues or fails are pro-actively dealt with and resolved.
Responsibilities
Specialist Trade Operations is responsible for:
- Deliver accurate, timely, compliant and cost effective trade processing services
- Ensure processes and procedures are in place to:
- Identify, record, investigate and resolve trades failing to achieve market settlement by contractual settlement date
- Record, investigate and resolve trade related interest claims and report any associated costs to senior management in a timely manner
- Provide administrative, transactional based support to others involved in the task of portfolio management
- Support external client queries and ensure that they are investigated and responded to within agreed timelines
- Contribute to department and Company initiatives and projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree strongly preferred
- Typically would require 1-3 years experience within Financial Services Operations.
- An active interest in the investment management industry
- Pro-active and forward thinking in communications with others
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of equity, fixed income and repo asset classes
- The role is prescribed within a well-established framework. However, the role holder is expected to play an active part in improving day-to-day procedures and how the work is to be tackled
- An understanding of market operations and local settlement processes
- Awareness of the risks associated withing trade operations with a proactive approach to preventative measures
Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary in a range of $70,000 to $85,000 for this position, dependent on qualifications and experience.
