Teacher Aide
Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
The Midland School, in North Branch (Somerset County) NJ, a private special education school serving developmentally disabled students aged 5 to 21 is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking candidates for the following full time position: Teacher Aide
Responsibilities:
- Reinforce instruction as directed by the teacher, under the direct supervision of the certificated staff member
- Implement effective behavior management programs in conjunction with teachers and support center staff
- Assist in classroom management and general routine
- Assist in the arrival and departure of children
- Provide complete and appropriate supervision of all students assigned
- Assist during snack and monitor class during lunch time
- Assist with computer instruction in the class and use computer to prepare materials for instruction as directed by teacher
- Assist children in bathrooming and personal cleanliness
- Prepare materials, bulletin boards, etc., under the direction of the teacher
- Attend staffings, conferences and meetings relating to students as needed
- Attend staff meetings, conferences and in-services as assigned
- Assist teacher in career clusters, if assigned.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or principal
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- New Jersey Criminal Review Clearance
- Demonstrate computer competency
