Job Summary:

The Shop Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all shop activities including all safety, quality and compliance requirements. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Operations or Production Manager and will provide supervision to all local shop technicians. The Shop Foreman will work closely with the Production Manager to schedule day-to-day work in the shop and applicable local field projects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Models all company safety and quality procedures and ensures the team for which he or she is accountable follows as well
• Ensures technicians document and enter job data into ValvKeep database and document photos in alignment with work procedure
• Provides technical expertise and coaching for the shop area of responsibility
• Able to train others on how to safely operate equipment (fork lift, overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.)
• Provides insights and inputs to the production manager and general manager as to how to make improvements in safety, work flow, quality, etc.
• Ensures the team on the floor understands company strategy and the important role they play in making the company successful
• Ensures shop area of responsibility is maintained clean and organized
• Ensures equipment in area is functioning properly as required to meet customer’s expectations safely
• May be required to help in field assignments
• May be required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
• Operate motor vehicle, as required
• Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required

Positional Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current or up-to-date TWIC (preferred)
  • Current Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred)
  • Job specific degree and/or certification (preferred)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, particularly in equipment area of expertise

  Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines

Essential Physical Functions:

• Lifting: up to 50 pounds
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
• Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
