Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, Inc. (NARA NW), Elder Services Assistant’s primary responsibility is to support the Elder’s meal activities and projects that are designed for the Elders within the community. This includes assisting in planning the elder meal service, transporting the food from NARA NW site kitchens. Additionally transporting Elders during NARA NW events to and from designated stops and venues. Example: From the bus/max stop to the Elder’s Powwow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transport Elder Lunch and equipment to twice weekly luncheons.
  • Transport Elder Dinners and equipment to the once-a-week dinner site.
  • Transport Elder’s as needed from NARA NW events to public transportation or to their final destination.
  • Provided Food Pantry deliveries as needed to Elder clientele.
  • Assists in daily functions of the CE&D department.
  • Greeting clients/patients, community and visitors as needed.
  • Performing general office duties and errands. Maintaining office equipment as needed.
  • Helping to update and manage common areas as assigned.
  • Provide support to CE&D staff with current projects or events.
  • Attend and participate in networking events that Elder’s may attend to include non-profit and government organizations as assigned.
  • Participate in the internal NARA NW Events Planning Committee and the Spirit of Giving conference planning.
  • Attend meetings and events as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school/GED diploma and 2 years relevant experience required.

Ability to learn NARA NW electronic payroll system, email and other programs as needed.

Current/valid driver license. This position requires a clean DMV record.

Able to lift a minimum 25 lbs.

Ability to represent NARA NW in a professional manner.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members.

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with teams.

Pay: $48,000.00 per year
