Position Summary / Career Interest:
Responsible for the overall management of Home Medical Equipment (HME) operations at The University of Kansas Health System, including personnel management, business operations, and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a continuous quality improvement and customer service effort to enhance the services provided to
- Internal and external customers.
- Develop and implement plans and programs to generate increased sales. Coordinate sales and operations to promote financial benefits to the organization Responsible for departmental budget development and achievement of financial goals. Works with accounting and
- finance departments to verify accuracy of financial statements and sub-ledgers for accounts receivable and
- inventory.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining current and effective tools, automation, services, and programming in
- all assigned areas to meet and enhance system goals.
- Ensure proper inventory control and purchasing procedures. Promote community relations and represent The University of Kansas Health Systemin community business endeavors. Review Third Party contracts for reasonable payment amounts, reconciliation of third-party remittance advices
- and monitoring accounts receivables.
- Look for new business opportunities and ways to increase efficiency and productivity. Comply with appropriate regulatory controls, internal safety guidelines, federal and state regulations, third party payor requirements, and accreditation standards as they relate to all aspects of HME operations. Maintain Policies and Procedures, forms, and document control for HME operations. Responsible for Medicare accreditation, proper business licensing and ensuring that staff maintain proper licenses
- and credentials.
- Knowledge of and maintains compliance with Medicare regulations for billing and dispensing DME products. Oversee relationships with all collaborating departments to maximize efficiencies related to billing, finance, reimbursement, and supply management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- (OR)
- Minimum of five years’ commensurate experience in supply chain or home medical equipment
- Fluent in English with advanced communication skills
- English
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- Familiarity with Lean concepts and processes
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands
Preferred:
- Master's Degree
