Position Summary:
The Senior Logistics Manager will support the GWH Transportation Department with the execution of all set runs in the outlet, store, and ADC operation. This position will lead transportation operations to ensure a timely flow of donations to the appropriate destinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor/assess the performance of Area Transportation Managers and Drivers to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Responsible for equipment flow to ensure continuous River Flow in locations.
  • Establish and manage the GWH Transportation Safety Program.
  • Ensure GWH is meeting requirements with all DOT standards and regulations.
  • Create and document transportation standard operating procedures.
  • Track and follow-up with any equipment maintenance needs.
  • Follow up with drivers consistently to ensure all routes are being completed.
  • Support in conducting weekly/monthly L10 meetings with drivers to recap operation and safety performance.
  • Talk with others to convey information effectively.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Ensure that product flows efficiently and in a lean manner throughout our operation from and through attended donation centers, primary and secondary stores.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Make data driven recommendations to improve transportation operations.
  • Adheres to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations and GWH Guiding Principles.
  • Must be able to job shadow direct reports and fill in as needed.
  • Must be assessable via cell phone consistently to receive and address transportation concerns.
  • Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment.
  • Must maintain an appropriate appearance and adhere to GWH’s dress code.
  • Must conduct work in a safe manner and report all accident and/or injuries immediately.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Free from drugs and alcohol.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years of dispatch experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate, read and write in English.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to receive critical feedback and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The ability to continuously stand/walk for the duration of a shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders and climb a ladder. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product) and occasionally move up to 100 lbs.
Must possess the ability to get in and out of and drive a heavy-duty truck. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time.
An indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is, usually, moderate.
