Senior Geologist Job at GEI Consultants Inc
Your role at GEI.
As a Project Manager and experienced seller-doer Geologist or Environmental Scientist, you will develop and help execute projects alongside our current Raleigh, NC team. As a successful PM, you will join others who have similar talents: highly motivated, organized, and have a demonstrated record of strong project management, networking skills, and client relationships. You will manage and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for remedial investigations, site characterizations, remedial design and activities, and due diligence in the Southeast region. You will be a leader with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders. You will join a senior leadership team that influences local business decisions and that supports region and company strategic direction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage technical, financial, and client relationship aspects of environmental projects.
- Grow our environmental practice in the Raleigh and Southeast Region by developing new and existing clients and markets while cross-selling GEI s core business areas including remediation, water resources, geotechnical, ecological, and civil engineering.
- Serve as a role model for leadership, company culture, and values.
- Commit to coaching and mentoring staff.
- Exemplify commitment to technical excellence balanced with client-expectations and satisfaction, and profitable project management.
- Assist in business development activities within practice; identify key clients/business areas, growth, and capture strategy.
- Assist leadership team in local planning and growth and provide support to regional and national level initiatives.
- Develop a networking partnership with practitioners across the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science. M.S. and/or hydrogeology background and skills are a plus.
- P.G. certification is a plus.
- Approved North Carolina Registered Site Manager (RSM) or ability to meet the requirements under the Registered Environmental Consultant (REC) program
- 10+ years of previous professional experience in environmental consulting. Knowledge of Southeast marketplace is a plus.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting programs at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and refreshers.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
- Valid U.S. Driver s license.
