Overview:
The Screed Operator will work as part of a crew and be an essential part to the application of asphalt on highways/private roadways/parking lots/driveways operating screed controls.
Responsibilities:
- Operator on the asphalt paver making normal adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade and finished cross section of asphalt material via screed extensions
- Must partner with the other crew members to apply asphalt per plan specifications and perform tasks of the other positions as instructed by crew foreman to insure daily schedules/estimates are met
- Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager
- Must be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required.
- Ability to follow Traffic Control instructions and practice safety standards per Company Safety Policy requirements. Must adhere to PPE(personal protective equipment) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition as supplied by the company.
- Demonstrated experience as a Screed Operator
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
- Must understand different signals used to signal operator of construction machinery
- 3-5 years of industry related experience with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
