Wild Birds Unlimited of Wexford, PA is a small business in Wexford, PA 15090. We are part of the original and largest franchise system of backyard bird feeding and nature specialty retail stores. We seek to provide high value to our customers by offering the highest quality bird feeding and bird watching products, including bird foods, bird feeders and houses, bird baths, hardware accessories for backyard habitats, optics, resource books and other bird feeding and bird watching products. We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team! The position of Sales Associate is a part-time (up to 20 hours per week) position that reports to the store manager. The primary responsibility of a Sales Associate is to provide a high energy customer experience, resolving customer questions and offering solutions to bring Joy to our customers’ lives!

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize exceptional customer experience in all day-to-day operations
• Follow all Best Practices for operating a Wild Birds Unlimited retail store including store opening and closing procedures
• Use successful selling skills to satisfy the customer and complete the sale
• Successfully complete online learning certification in order to deliver the Wild Birds Unlimited high energy customer experience as the trusted local expert
• Understand the store’s merchandise and be able to communicate features, advantages and benefits to the customer
• Complete the changing of displays, signing and the restocking of merchandise as directed by management
• Assess customers’ needs, supply information and provide client-specific product recommendations
• Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic and professional demeanor
• Self-motivated to improve product and/or hobby knowledge
• Attend store meetings as required
• Maintain good housekeeping standards to help present a clean and well-presented store and clean and organized backroom
• Complete any other duties as assigned
• ​Qualifications: Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or other related fields
• Possess strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport with customers and team
• Weekend availability
• Working knowledge of MS Office Products
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
