Roller Coating Operator Job at Northern Engraving Corporation
Purpose of role-
With minimal supervision, coordinates, plans, develops and prints concepts, prototypes and finishes that are consistent with customer direction and/or Design Department objectives. Responsible for the basic mechanics of coating machine and color development.
Duties and responsibilities-
· Run Reverse coating machine.
· Color match / Mix ink.
· Evaluate project requirements to assure development meets specifications (use proper inks, coatings and processes).
· Organization and storage of inks, coatings and stock.
· Detailed record keeping of all color development and printing (formulas, process cards & steps).
· Press maintenance.
· Ability to use a densitometer and a gloss meter.
· Work closely with production to make sure jobs transfer smoothly to manufacturing.
Skill and qualifications-
Trade school certificate in lithograph press operation/or equivalent experience is a plus
Good working knowledge of coating press skills appropriate to trouble-shooting
coating printing problems.
Strong basic math skills.
Good computer skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge of blueprints or schematics is preferred.
Ability to work under time constraints.
Strong mechanical ability.
Pass all color evaluation testing (color blindness test and the Farnsworth-Munsell Hue test).
Ability to use a densitometer and a gloss meter (preferred but not required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.50 per hour
