Position Summary
Evaluates health of employees returning to work after an illness or injury. Serves as back-up for workers comp claims in the absence of the Workman Comp Coordinator. Evaluates health of new hires and conducts related tests, such as TB tests. Request new hire lab titers per policy and follows up with administration of required immunizations specified per policy. Ensures Latex allergy status on all new hires and volunteers and follows up with allergy education if indicated. Administers annual influenza vaccine for all staff per policy. Volunteers and contract/agency staff are evaluated in Employee Health prior to start dates and reviewed for all requirements to be met per policy. Provides education to staff as indicated. Communicates frequently with physicians, department managers, hospital committees, staff, and outside regulatory bodies (OSHA, DHR, JCAHO).Reviews and updates Employee Health policies as required and needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Three (3) years of nursing experience, preferably in an employee health role. Proven administrative, organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and problem-solving skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a hospital setting. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Good skills in time management and organization. Excellent communication skills. Professional demeanor and ability to multi-task.
Required Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Associate's Degree Nursing
• Registered Nurse
• Current BLS required

Preferred Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing
• Master's Degree Nursing
• Certification in Occupational Health

Other Information:Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs. Visual acuity for observation of patients. Minimal standing, walking, bending and lifting.
