Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for production and related activities to achieve timely output of rubber compounds at the most economical costs and in the proper quality & quantities.

Through coordinate planning, organize manufacturing procedures and operations to accomplish objectives in accordance with production scheduled, available manpower, skills and manufacturing capabilities.

Through motivating techniques, delegation of responsibilities and commensurate authority within the framework of the organization structure, maintain uninterrupted production, flow of materials, product quality and quantity within the limitations of established manufacturing costs and budget allocations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
• Plans Rubber Mixing operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
• Prepares Rubber Mixing schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• To the fullest extent possible, utilizing documented control systems, responsibility includes initiating action, recommending or providing solutions, to prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity.
• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
• Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Plant Manager for action.
• Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
• Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in rubber mixing within a manufacturing environment
• Experience managing and leading a multi-shift team
• Strong leadership and motivational skills while holding a high level of production standards
