The Department of Developmental Services is looking for individuals with experience in complex technical research and statistics to fill a Research Data Specialist I vacancy located at our Southern California Headquarters in Costa Mesa.

Experience/Education in the following areas will ensure success in this role:

• Required: 12 semester or 18 quarter units of a data driven research-related field, such as economics, mathematics, psychology, sociology, demography, geography, anthropology, statistics, data science or a research-related field
• Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis)
• Knowledge of research methods and techniques
• Knowledge of application of statistical methods and computerized models to data analysis and presentation of research findings
• Knowledge of survey methods and analytical techniques
• Knowledge of the Lanterman Act and the developmental disabilities services system
