Research Associate (Full Time) - Evans Job at Donald Danforth Plant Science Center
The Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Facility at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill an immediate, full-time position as a Metabolomics Research Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Direction and execution of collaborations and fee for service small molecule analysis projects, including targeted and untargeted metabolite profiling, development of quantitative methods, small molecule structure elucidation, as well as metabolite extraction and separations
- Assisting a Staff Scientist with the preparation of samples for proteomics analysis
- Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of instrumentation
- Training of junior staff and facility users
- Tracking customer fees and creating project cost estimates
- Basic chemical/biochemical laboratory tasks
- Contribute substantially to publications
- Optimize laboratory protocols and instrumentation
- Other duties as assigned
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and interactive research environment
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written

Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with contemporary mass spectrometric and chromatographic instrumentation and associated software required
- Experience with biochemical and molecular biological techniques is a plus
