Pay Rate:

$95,000 - $105,500

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Leads safety activities on shift to prevent injuries, eliminate hazards, and comply with all applicable regulations and mill policies.
  • Supervises 20 team members on shift and manages employee performance and promotes teamwork by providing appropriate coaching and training to ensure reliable performance and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Leads team in participation in mill’s Safe Work Observation and Hazard Recognition programs
  • Leads housekeeping improvement through use of mill’s 5S process
  • Leads pre-shift safety discussions with team daily
  • Implements improvement initiatives, corrects unsafe conditions and responds to safety concerns to ensure a safe and healthy working environment
  • Sets operating rates and coordinates mill operations to optimize profitability, minimize downtime, and balance mill operating conditions
  • Coordinates/Prioritizes shift maintenance activities
  • Leads team in maintaining all quality and environmental parameters within defined limits
  • Ensures all required testing occurs on schedule and in the appropriate manner
  • Interfaces with the operators on a daily basis. Investigates their chronic problems and ensures basic care route completion. Ensures operator concerns and basic care findings are addressed through the MWS process
  • Leads team members in initial RCFA investigation process
  • Works with operators to prepare equipment LOTOs. Verifies accuracy of equipment LOTOs.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies and International Paper’s Standard of Ethics and Code of Corporate Conduct

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Pulp, and Paper Technology or equivalent work experience
  • 1 year related Pulp & Paper experience in a manufacturing facility or Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology degree
  • Demonstrates leadership skills combined with technical knowledge and experience in Pulp & Paper manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to manage and/or lead projects and teams of people preferred
  • Proven leadership ability in guiding a team in meeting its business objectives.
  • Active participation in safety, problem solving and other committee/team activities.
  • Completion of Onboarding or Franklin Setup Curriculum preferred
