Summary:

The Regional Security Specialist assists in the implementation and administration of policies and programs relating to the Bank’s Security and Safety Program, which includes establishing and maintaining operational procedures, training requirements, internal controls, along with the monitoring and reporting of processes in order to comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations.

This is a remote position with day travel, minimal overnight travel. Will travel to facilities within the footprint Cincinnati, OH; WV, Kentucky, Northwest Ohio

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Primary point of contact for field locations/banking centers on physical security matters, including response, management, and resolution of field equipment service requests.
  • Coordinate investigative efforts, arrests and prosecutions with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Provide security training and updates on ongoing security procedures.
  • Actively participates in providing input for policies and procedures.
  • Disseminate information on criminal activity occurring at the corporation and in local areas to banking centers and departments.
  • Perform facility security audits and related follow up including device selection, testing, training and maintaining.
  • Assist with the research, identification and oversight of the installation of new and upgraded equipment in all locations within region of responsibility.
  • Works cooperatively with other HNB departments to ensure a continual, effective safeguard to customer, associate, and bank assets; may perform/assist with investigations when required.
  • Conduct continual surveys of banking center offices, departments and functions to determine the need for additional security services and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Represent the bank in conjunction with local court appearances (records certification, suspect identification, etc.) as well as the accompaniment of employees who may be required to testify.
  • Keep abreast of new and amended regulations by attending seminars and gathering information from the internet and regulatory publications.
  • Advise senior management team about emerging security and safety issues.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years law enforcement or equivalent experience in a security department, with a specialization in training on audit/security subject matter.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Understanding of the judicial system.
  • Ability to deliver clear, concise, accurate and effective communication (verbal and written) proactively and with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to make sound and reasonable decisions through careful evaluation and understanding of the impact of those decisions.
  • High attention to detail with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Understanding and experience in the use of various CCTV surveillance systems (both analog and IP) as well as alarm and access control systems.
  • Security experience in a banking environment.
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
