Refrigeration Monitor Job at Tropical Shipping
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing fueling duties and assisting in yard operations, including equipment moves and washing of refrigerated units. Performs maintenance, repair and replacement of load line cords, ends and switches. Monitors loaded refrigeration units for proper operation. Pre-trips refrigerated units and ensures proper maintenance standards prior to container use by customer.
JOB SCOPE
No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists Refrigeration Department personnel in all yard operations to ensure container readiness for customer.
Monitors all loaded reefers and maintains daily record. Checks Avenue "E" terminal and port reefer lines on a regular basis. Checks Avenue "E" terminal and port reefer lines hourly for new units added and temperature discrepancies on existing units.
Plugs all electric and diesel/electric units to the load line receptacles. Maintains electric cords.
Performs fueling duties and acts as back-up Fueler when necessary.
Performs pre-tripping duties to ensure container is ready for customer on a timely basis. Ensures maintenance standards are met.
Operates jockey truck, fuel truck, fork-lift, and spreader as needed. Ensures assigned vehicle is kept clean and maintained.
Assists Refrigeration Mechanics as needed.
Performs all other assigned duties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: No previous experience required.
LICENSE: Valid local driver's license. Ability to obtain CDL- Class B with Hazmat endorsement.
