RCC Food Service Coordinator Job at Looking Glass Community Services
As the Food Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the RCC program's nutritional and food delivery system. You will develop menus and prepare nutritious, appealing meals for youth and staff (12-40 people) while maintaining a recipe file with nutritional requirements and client dietary needs. You will take several shopping trips on a weekly basis to purchase food and various items from Unifirst for the program while being responsible for budget control of these purchases. You will ensure kitchen sanitation and maintenance are up to standards. You will also assist with supervising youth working in the kitchen and teaches basic food safety and preparation.

Get Fridays & Saturdays off! The work schedule will be from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Sunday - Wednesday.

RCC, or the Regional Crisis Center, is a PRTS/subacute residential facility where youth are placed directly from the Department of Human Services. RCC provides residential living facilities, mental health treatment, family counseling, substance use disorders treatment, and academic instruction and education on-site. RCC clients are often combative and have multiple mental or behavioral challenges. RCC uses verbal de-escalation tactics as well as treatments such as seclusion rooms and manual restraints when necessary to ensure the safety of our clients.

Qualified staff may have a college-level degree in food science, nutrition, culinary arts, or have ample experience in volume/institutional cooking, kitchen management, or management of nutritional programs. Familiarity with USDA standards and supervision experience is preferred. Knowledge of Oregon Department of Education Standards and reports for school and child-caring programs is preferred. You must have a Food Handlers card, a valid Oregon driver's license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation to run errands.
