Position Summary:

Interprets and implements QA standards to ensure quality goals are met by performing the required duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

KEY OUTCOMES (KPI’S)


  • OUTCOME: Understands and identifies nonconforming material both internally and externally.

  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of conforming and nonconforming goods.

  • Able to identify parts based on customer drawings.

  • Maintains control of nonconforming goods by quarantining product through final disposition.

  • Helps release and prepare shipments to return nonconforming goods.

  • Understanding of cosmetic zoning and identifies visual defects.

  • Rejects production kits through Internal Quality Discrepancy(IQDs) process.

  • Maintains IQD process.

  • Prepares reports to communicate results of quality inspections.

  • OUTCOME: Ensuring conformance to ISO/ Customer requirements

  • Internal Auditing in accordance with our program goals

  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis and the Internal Corrective Action process

  • Work with the team as it pertains to meeting 9001 requirements

  • Assemble required documents needed by the customer for Production Part Approval.

  • OUTCOME: Provide a culture of Continuous Improvement by making incremental, sustainable changes to improve efficiency, performance, and profitability

  • Reports out and reviews daily quality records & metrics to determine need for improvements.

  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.

  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.

  • Review and evaluate QA staff performance.

  • OUTCOME: Be an effective leader who provides an environment where employees have clear expectations and meaningful feedback on a regular basis.

  • Directly supervise 5-10 employees in the QA department.

  • Oversee personnel engage in QA review of assembly lines and warehousing.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Review and evaluate QA staff performance.

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees – as needed.

  • Appraising performance and rewarding or disciplining employees.

  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.

  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Work across departments to address problems as they arise.

Qualifications:

STRENGTHS


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from 4 year college or university; 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills working with all levels of staff.
