Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality & Risk, the Quality Improvement Coordinator will support overall quality improvement efforts including development, implementation, data collection and analysis. The Quality Improvement Coordinator will support initiatives in Utilization Management, patient safety, performance improvement and patient relations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Director of Quality & Risk to plan, design and manage the hospital-wide Quality Improvement (QI) program to meet the needs of patients, staff and external agencies.
- Provides QI support and consultative services to hospital and medical staff in effectively achieving regulatory accreditation and organizational compliance for QI activities.
- Provides Utilization Management support services.
- Organizes, compiles, and reports QI and UM data for both the hospital and medical staff departments to identify trends, establish priorities, and works with Director of Quality & Risk to recommend improvement activities.
- Performs data analytics and data entry to support internal and external QI program initiatives.
- Coordinates QI activities including, but not limited to, Root Cause Analysis, FEMA, QI presentations, etc.
- Reports findings to other departments such as utilization review, case management and risk management.
- Supports committee meetings and other pertinent project groups to ensure the organization's overall QI plan implementation and compliance.
- Keeps well-informed of current CMS/accreditation standards and the latest quality techniques in health care.
Qualifications
Education: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree desired
Experience: 2 years of experience in a healthcare organization desired. Familiarity with compliance, performance improvement, quality and/or risk management a plus.
Licensure: None Required. CPHQ Certification desired upon 2 years of hire.
