Our Quality Assurance Inspectors earn a starting salary of $18.70 to $24.27 per hour, depending on experience. Day Shift hours
What You'll Do:
- Ensure manufactured products meet the required specifications through personal inspection, utilization of job orders, blueprints, and data analysis
- Partner with several departments to implement corrective actions on quality issues including supplier issues
- Provide feedback to the Manufacturing and Engineering departments for quality improvements
- On a continuing basis, update and review existing procedures and advise this position’s supervisor of suggested procedural improvements
- Review and calibrate gauges, fixtures, welding machines, and measurement devices as required.
- Maintain Quality Assurance records, including data entry and filing of records.
- Perform weld testing of Welder job applicants. Through observation and random selection, assess and audit weld operators and weld equipment for proper settings and procedures
- Provide assistance and perform or assist in other duties as qualified and assigned by Department Manager.

What We Need from You:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- 0-2 years’ experience
- Ability to use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and read/understand blueprints, preferred.
- Complete work tasks as necessary to meet Company safety, productivity, and quality policies. Continuously improve work-related skills, efficiency, and the quality of output.
- Computer experience required, particularly the ability to use computer software for documents and spreadsheets, email communication and business management software.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment following the Company’s 5S guidelines and Hazardous Waste Management programs.
- Interact with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; comply with Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and uphold ASTEC Core Values.
- Perform work in an industrial environment with exposure to industrial noise, fumes, smoke, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work well with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment.
